3 Resolutions to Help You Get a Healthier Smile in 2019
A new year means that you get to basically start all over. If you spent 2018 with a mouthful of cavities and a few chipped teeth, then make 2019 the year that we get your smile healthier and looking better than ever. To help you spend less time in our office and more time doing what you love, this article will list three resolutions to help you get a healthier smile.
Drink Fewer Sugary Drinks
Added sugar in your coffee, soda, juice, and tea have so much sugar in them that they are likely causing you cavities. Rather than reaching for one of these sugary drinks every day— or even multiple times a day— consider switching to a healthier alternative like water.
Brush More Often
Another resolution that you should make is to brush your teeth more often. If you are used to just brushing your teeth once a day, then make sure that you at least brush your teeth twice a day at minimum. If you can, try to make a resolution to brush your teeth after every meal. Brushing your teeth is the easiest way to cut down on germs and bacteria that may lead to things like cavities later on down the line.
If you aren’t used to flossing, then 2019 is the year for you to get into this habit. If you aren’t fond of traditional dental floss, then consider using a water flosser. Water flossers use pressurized water to help get out food from in between your teeth. Another great thing about water flossers is that they can also massage your gums at the same time.
